Prad SpA (1913.HK) and Prada and Miu Miu under Prada Group, listed in Hongkong Exchange market, start to make 50% off discount in Hongkong. It is said that this price reduction promotion has no limit, till all the on sale products are sold out.
Prada SpA is one of the luxury brands who have fared worst in the past two years. This group will issue the financial statement of the third quarter in the middle of Demcember and the stock price of this company reached the lowest since being listed in this week. Since the financial statement in the third quarter is from August to November and since August, the luxury brand market was striken by the dual blow of china’s stock market disaster and the sluggish American market. Besides, Prada SpA market in Hongkong and Macau in the great China district continues to be weak. The Hongkong Statics Bureau continues to hand our declining retailing figure. In particular, in luxury brand, there is double digit decline.
Promotion of Prada, Miu Miu and Gucci in Tsim Sha Tsui attracted many people
As for Prada SpA’s promotion, consumers’ opinion varies. Some say half priced offer is very cheap, some say no discount for the new products and the discounted types are all out-dated types. For the reason of discount, some consumers believe that it is related with the bad performance in the retailing market, and some also expressed that this is just a routine discount activity in holidays. For this, Prada sales said this is just a routine offer before Charismas, not a special promotion.
Apart from Prada and Miu Miu, another Italian brand Gucci also introduced promotion activity on Friday. It is said that Prada’s half0-riced products include leather, garments and so on, among which leather products are on 40% discount and garment lower than 50%. Except for some handbags and purses, MiuMiu products are all 50% off. Gucci has the similar discount. The following discount activity also attracted many customers for their outlets in Tsim Sha Tsui. There is even a long queue of dozens of people in the Prada outlet, but not in some Central stores with fewer visitors.
